I dunno if it's my shit technique or the gearing on the bike but I can't seem to pop the front in 2nd.

1st I'm ok with, I can pop that with the clutch easy.

Bike is a CBR600F X. Anyone else had a similair bike and problem, well not really a problem is it, more of a thing you want to do but can't because of something.

The VTR was easy to clutch in 2nd being a punchy V twin, but inline 4s are not really that easy for me in terms of wheelie.

I have a couple of mates with several 1992 > 1995 CBR600f.

They havent done any engine work or changed the sprockets.

They use them as stunters and pissing about on.

They spend more time on the one wheel than two.

Every bike is a pre 95 cbr600f apart from mine and the one with the chequered mud guard.

Seeing as you know some stunters, instead of being a cunt why not ask them how they clutch it in 2nd for me so I can get my technique right?

Fail to see how I'm a pussy for doing something wrong? Like stated, I've tried a fuck load of revs and it doesn't work, so can you read my fucking posts rather than spew out meaningless shit all the time? Thanks you sexy bitches! Laughing

From what i have been told,

handful of revs, dip the clutch and pull the bike up. You have to physically yank it up.

It's all relative. Sorry, I forgot everyone on the internet's an elbow dragging, 5th gear monoing hooligan. Wink

If you really think it won't come up in second then roll along around 40ish and dump the clutch at full throttle at 12k. If it won't come up then you may have to change the sprockets.

As it stands I'm guessing you haven't so more revs/more throttle will see you just fine. It's going to need a bit more abuse than the VTR to bring up because peak torque is delivered far higher in the rev range.

And as Matt says the only way you'll get better is by practicing

Nice rhyme.
I can wheelie though

You're digging a hole by implying you're a fast rider, yet you can't get a SRAD to play ball when cornering.

I can't clutch up, but riding a friend's cbr600f I could get it to lift fairly easily standing, arse sticking back, bouncing it up on the power. I find standups easier personally.

I don't have to clutch my bike up though it would lift before then I downgeared it, lifts on the power in first second and third. (I've only learnt how in the last couple of months so I'm no expert.)

But what about a restricted CBR600F? I've been thinking about learning to do it but wondering if being restricted would stop me being such a heavy bike and whatnot. Thinking

Maybe it's down to technique and he's only had it a week or so but I've been riding with TUG for a few years and he doesn't exactly lack the confidence to do it, I've seen him pull many good wheelies on the VTR in 2nd at least.

The same happened with my G1 ZX6R, it wouldn't do it in 2nd gear. I did try full throttle and about 30-35mph in 2nd and it just wouldn't lift up. I'm no wheelie expert either but I don't lack confidence and tried everything to wheely that G1 and it wouldn't have it at all.

I managed to land a 3rd gear 130mph minger the other day on the 10r, it feels like my ktm with regards to wheelies, nice an easy to pop it up, pops up nicely at 80mph as well.

Good advice Smile.
With standard gearing, I'd expect a FX to be moderately hard work to get up in second.

You need to consider both the revs you're adding and the revs you're starting at. You may need to be starting at higher rpm/speed in the first place, so there's less of a difference in speed between road speed and where ever 80hp or whatever is.

You could also try giving it a bit of a bounce down with your legs before dumping the clutch, so the suspension gives you a hand.

My bike doesnt like 2nd gear wheelies...even at 70mph Sad
Few people have tried...and failed Laughing

Try the smallest bit of down gearing? I reckon when me and nowhere.elysium rape my bike, it will probably get down geared.. I dont use much over 120/130mph anyway.

Well guys, I had a look at my chain the other day and with it being new and been on a track day before laid up it had gone slack, now nice and tight and the front now lifts a little bit, still working on my technique but I did pop it up for a fair distance so I'm getting closer.

Laughing Matt, ooooooh you, I love you're cuntish posts they make me feel all warm inside that you take time out of you're busy lifestyle to fail at trolling me. I love you babes x.

So yea kids, keep check on you're chains, they play a big part in your mingers, don't assume they are tight because they have only covered 50 or so miles either. Thumbs Up Very Happy

Thats cheating! Laughing

Plus it's risky, false neutral and it's game over, I know pulling wheelies is risky in itself but I'd rather do them propperly.

I've started bumping the front but my dodgy arm means that my take offs can either be not enough or not straight so will have to see, I think the gearing is stock too but unsure, when it is time to renew I'll fit a bigger rear and a smaller front, is that correct I can never remember.
