You can't help thinking the illusion would be improved if it didn't have aprilia written on it...

Thats ghastly. If you want a bike to look like a GSXR then buy a GSXR. Dont waste money on painting another bike.

Think it came up for sale before. Was gash then and is gash now.

That is just wrong on so many levels.

I'd love to do a top gear roll on from 80mph or so with him on that and me on my Gixxer thou.

Don't see it as any worse than any other tarty paint job.
A lot better than getting a 'race rep' paint scheme which you pay to advertising a petrol station on your bike or whatever, to my mind!

Whatever possessed him to do that?
It's a bit like the MR2 Ferrari kits that crop up. Check out this chap who spent over £10K on making his MR2 look vaguely like a 'Rari. The 'illusion' is ruined somewhat by the fact that it still has a 2 litre 4-pot for a powerplant.

Agree completely. The guy obviously likes the colour scheme so what's the problem?

A particularly poor conversion. And the good ones end up costing similar to the real thing (though less in maintenance.)

However, look at why you might own a Ferrari -
To go fast? Well, not really - plenty of cars go fast for much less. In fact you see your average chavved up 1.2 corsa being driven faster than you see most Ferraris being driven.
For the attention from others, etc - status symbol. For 99% of people, a MR2 fake will probably do that too.
For the 'feeling' of having a Ferrari - well, if you get that from your fake, fair enough.

If anything, I'd suggest most Ferrari owners might as well have a MR2 - never know, might enjoy it more as they're less worried about costly work needing doing to the car!

It's not as bad as the hair dryer I've seen a couple of times riding around Bristol with a GSXR paint job.
