when i start changing gears it takes about 0.1 mile to get to about 15mph is that correct or do i need to upjet the sytem?

OH GOD NO!!!!

My young friend... Please don't just repeat buzzwords you've picked up somewhere and try to pass them off as if you know what you're doing because it won't work.

We don't know if there is anything wrong with your bike as you've not mentioned if its been modified, if its accelerating normally compared to other 50cc geared bikes or if the gearing has been changed or anything.

However, saying "Do I need to upjet the system" is like saying "My TV doesn't work, do I need to remove and replace all of the diodes in the back?" We don't know the answer, because it could be one of a number of things that are wrong. The bike could need a rebuild, and it could be low on compression. It could have been 'modified' by a ham fisted owner and set up very badly. It could be thousands of things. Or, there might actually be nothing wrong at all.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I up-dioded my telly and now I can watch all my programmes in 3d - without wearing the specs!
