I'm looking at chopping the 125 in for a few years now but have been to bone idol to do it.

Now is now the best time of year to sell it?

Also, its in quite tatty condition, scuffs and scratches and the swing arm paint has flaked off on one side.

Its also done 21,000 miles.

Now Also the exhaust is also sleeved as i was told the other day and one of the sleeves is loose, but is not affecting the exhaust system or blowing or anything.

So should i say buy a new exhaust system for it a £270 or leave it and put it up for sale for £800

bike in question is this

Its all about finding the right buyer,.... so luck really.

I got my 250 for 2200. When I was buying my 125 I may have been happy with this. Thing is though, it took the dealer hours of convincing that hyosung isnt cheap chinese shit. I am not ignorant, just cautious.
I love my 250gtr now Very Happy

Out of interest, those 20k miles... did you have any major, dig your hand in your pockets because something fucked up moments?
Im wondering if my 250 will be alright Laughing

Only major dig my hand moments was when i crashed it and bent the forks. So had them replaced.

Other than that, its been minor niggles. The side stand switch which was replaced and then eventually just bypassed.

Other than that its just the usual cost of consumables. I love the bike, just looking for some extra mph to make motorway journeys a bit easier.

Ebay is your friend but hurry cause prices will drop after the summer. If you can get some free credit, i would buy now and then sell the hyo come the spring but then im a tight bastard Twisted Evil

I sold my gt205r recently and it was on ebay for ages before somebody rang and paid top whack for it. They are not super popular bikes yet, but for those who know a bit about them, they will pay good money. For this reason i would be tempted to put it on a 30 day classified or buy it now/best offer as it will sell but might take a little while. Dont be tempted to let is go for less than its worth, they are crackin bikes.

Not sure would £800 be reasonable tho. Its tatty cosmetically. The swing arm has flaked off in areas and front mudguard is cracked. On the right hand side tho its perfect.

Im not sure on book prices and stuff so wouldnt want to advise on actual price, but unless you find a cheap but decent second hand system i wouldnt want to be replacing the exhaust as it will likely not add enough to the sale price for you to cover the cost of it. Those bloody black pipes are the only negative in the comet range if you ask me. There are a couple of stainless systems out there though.

Well my plan was to sell it, and maybe get a bit of a banger of a bigger bike.

As I'm back at Uni in March so my monthly income is going to be half ed, so don't want to be shelling out on repairs etc.

But due to the constant " You've been on 125's for 7 years" and "why haven't you got a bigger bike yet"

Its beginning to get on my wick a bit.

Take no notice of them... If you are happy with the bike you have now, then stick with it.

Better the devil you know, ratehr than some other bike that may end up costing a lot of ££££

I know a 30 yr old guy who rides about on a 125. He doesn't seem bothered about it.
