Basically I have a 2nd bike which at the moment is insured on a 1 month policy. I cant add this bike to my main bikes policy as it isnt a multibike policy - so until that expires im having to insure the second bike without any no claims etc so the prices are silly for what it is.
Im using the bike for trackdays so dont need it insured again until the middle of the month so there will be a weeks gap before il be wanting to insure it again - on a one month policy. Once that one month policy has lapsed i dont plan to renew until i can get it on my main policy when i renew with a multibike policy. The reason for waiting a week is so i can squeeze another trackday in before the end of the 1 month policy (if i insure it immedietly id have to take out yet another month just to do this trackday - and at £45 a month its not worth it)

Are the DVLA that up on it and that anal that they are likely to put this new 'sorn it or insure it' charge on me if i leave it unisured for just a week????? Are they looking for gaps like this and waiting to pounce with there pathetic fines?

Its an utter farce really. A bike that i own and use perfectly legally now has to have insurance or be sorned when im not wanting to use it. Add to that the fact that the dvla have now made getting a tax refund an utter ball ache - right bunch of c*nuts! Mad Shocked

I highly doubt they will pick up on that.

However, what I'd be more worried about is that if the motorcycle isn't insured and it just happens to get nicked in that week, no payout (Assuming you insure it TPFT).

That'd be a lot worse than anything the DVLA can throw at you.
