most of you know I wear a Simpson helmet, but after a few years I noticed they were getting more common with the white helmet/black visor combo.

Decided to get another (other one was 15 years old!!! lol) and had the helmet sprayed in a skull effect.

It's not to everybodys taste I know, but it looks less tacky when it has just the black visor on.

I'm going to guess an everage 2 out of 10 will like it Laughing

Ok, I have to ask.

Who did it?

How much?

Do they do other designs?

Can they paint over matt black (standard caberg matt)?

Love the paint job and have shown my appreciation. Thumbs Up

Not to my taste but they've done an good job. I do find the "getting more common" idea vaguely funny though Laughing

Not really my cup of tea, but it looks like good value for money.

I'm curious about the actual lid though; I've been wearing Simpsons since the early 80s and I've never really rated the various copies that have appeared.

I haven't had a look at one of these, so what's the quality of the Bandit like?

Really cool Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Why aren't those stig helmets (as I call 'em) road legal anyway? Do they just disintegrate in a crash or is it because they don't meet silly euro laws?

No, it's a Bandit XXR, a Simpson look-a-like that originates in Germany.

Most Simpsons don't pass the BS standard because of the narrow eye aperture, it's said they restrict peripheral vision; models like the Bandit and Diamondback (which is what Stig currently wears) also have sticky out bits, which it's feared will catch against things like kerbs and drainage grates, ripping your head off when you get stuck in them.

I should mention here that, in 30 years of wearing Simpsons, I've never been caught out by something appearing that I didn't see, or had my neck broken/head ripped off.

They do make an ACU approved lid called the Street Bandit, but it's gheyer than a ghey thing.

Really good TBH, the chin piece is slightly bigger than my simpson RX ( I'll get you side by side photo's ) Interior is much better fabric feels like velvet, and the buckle is a seat belt type instead of a double D.
Sounds quieter too.
