Oreet!
On the verge of having a Z1000. Put a deposit on it last night. Originally I was going for a newer model 09/10 plate but decided to stay sensible with the cash and go for an older one.
So stuck a few bob down on this:
https://i1020.photobucket.com/albums/af328/odemode/a1a2e61d.jpg
04 plate with 6,200 on the clock. Looks and sounds amazing. Got a full Akrapovic system, steering damper and the odd for add ons. Paying £3,500 in total.
Before I commit, could do with some advice. The seller did a HPI check on his phone which basically told us that the bike has not been scrapped and has no record of been a total loss. It also stated the VIN No, and number of owners (1, him being the second) and colour. It did not mention the mileage, although he has all the MOT docs which match up to the current mileage.
He has run it on a private plate which he'll be taking off this Friday before I collect it. Now if I decide to do my own HPI check which reg do I use, current or original? Also which site is the best to use to do them?
Cheers, Dan |

Can't help you with the HPI check but love Z1000's. My mate has a 55 plate in red. Very nice bike. |

You will need to use the current VRM (the private plate in this case). If you use someone good like HPI themselves, then you'll get details held under any previous VRMs as well. Make sure you do one of your own, not every seller is that honest.
Bear in mind also that if he's removing the private plate then you won't get a V5 with the bike. Perhaps consider withholding £100 until he sends you the V5. That way you know you've got a proper bike, and he knows it will be registered to you and he'll get all his money.
Gorgeous looking bike too, I fancy one of those. |

Awesome
Recently got an 07 Z1000 myself and I love it, my old R1 sits doing nothing now. |

Never ridden the thou, but i found the 750 to be incredibly gutless and had one of the most vague-feeling front ends of any bike i've ever ridden.
