Hi,

So, there is my GSF650 K6 bandit. When I got it I posted the photos here on the BCF and got lots of comments on the exhaust. So I have changed the Exhaust pipe. However when I was trying to release the old link pipe from the front down one the clamp has fallen off with a good peace of front downpipe. Rust. so I've ordered a new one. Haven't installed it yet though.

But the bit I wanted to tell everyone is a charger for my phone. I have bought micro USB car charger, got rid of the car end bit and connected it to the battery. Tried to connect black wire to "-", so it was charging, tried the other way around and my phone just turned off. then I have put the wire under the petrol tank, as far from the engine as I could. I have done it so I could charge my phone while using GPS. I will post the photos later

Not exactly sure how you're trying to wire your charger in, however USB chargers are 5v, and your bike battery is 12v - so if you chop the wires and try wiring the charger directly to your bike, it wont be the right voltage, and will either start popping fuses or will fry your phone.

EDIT - just looked at your picture, if it's a Nokia phone, the batteries are about 3.7v, so unless you have wired in a voltage regulator, you're going to be trying to charge your phone with 12v and it will most likely break something.

For charger, better off getting a 12V socket and a proper charger/usb outlet Thumbs Up

If you are using the guts of the car charger that will step the voltage down to the correct charging voltage for the phone so it will work just fine. However I would have done the same as iooi and wired in a 12v socket so that when you are not using the phone charger it can be simply unplugged and other accessorys can be plugged in. If it is direct to the battery then you can even use a charger through it for the bikes battery.

OK guys, thanks for the comments on the charger. My mistake was I thought that the battery on the bike would be smaller than the one on a car, plus I have taken a risk and run the charger with my phone with working engine for about 5 minutes and it was fine. However 12V vs 5V is a big difference, so there is what i'm gonna do:
i've ordered another car charger for £3 on amazon (not too big price for my mistake and potential burnt phone). i'm gonna use the microchip that is installed in it (the previous one I have binned and the whole trash bag was taken out already) to transfer the 12V (as in the car) to the 5V that I need. I will keep you updated on the progress.
cheers for the critics.

Does anyone know how to put the front downpipe together? I just got it and it and its not one piece like I hoped, instead there are 5 pipes, pack of screws and a tube of some gel with not a single word on it... Anybody has done it before or have a manual for that kind of things?
