Front Shock/Suspension seized up

'ello boys n girls!

Just took the bike round the block and found the forks aren't moving. I'm bobbing along, pull the front brake firmly and it's just an awkward stop where the front of the bike doesn't dip Confused

I've called my local garage, and they've booked me in a visit for next Tuesday (16th August) but I was wondering if there's anything I can take a look at in the meantime? I've bugger all mechanical expertise, so any help in idiot form is really appreciated Mr. Green

if you can, i would start by...

support the front of the bike and unbolt the front shock. check if the forks move and the linkage moves. if it does, could be the shock. if it doesnt then you need to check the linkage and forks.

but to be honest, if its already booked in, theres no point messing around with anything. you still got to ride it there havent you??

For fear of sounding stupid, is the whole point of the telelever suspension that it does not dip under braking?

I thought it gave a degree of anti dive, but wouldn't keep the bike totally level when braking? Ultimately the weight shifting from deceleration will compress the front end, the telelever system just maintained a constant rake angle making handling more consistent under braking? Either way pulling in the front brake to stop the bike rolling forwards and pushing the bars up and down should compress the front end.
