I figured I would ask some of you good people here who know more than me about a lot of things....
I want to sell my Intruder 125 but I'm not sure how much I should ask for it, or where I should sell it to get the best asking price.
Some details about it to help out.
I bought it almost 10 months ago from a friend and paid £250.
Everything at the back end was rotting away and was replaced + a lot of work towards the front... (back wheel, tyre, hub, cush drive, sprockets & chain, rear brake shoes, exhaust, rear braking arm, starter, battery, bulbs, fork seals, dust seals, front caliper seals, brake pads), I know a few things on that list are pperishableand are expected to be replaced regularly, but on top of that list I've done a very major service where even the HT leads were replaced.
I've repainted the frame, the rear light was held on with rivets which I've taken out and ffibre-glassed filled and repainted (OK I couldn't get a match on the paint and begrudge paying £30 for a 400ml can for now), I've repainted the engine and a couple of other bits and pieces here and there.
As mentioned there are a few parts that come down to normal wear and tear, and with it being an all weather bike it isn't a shining example of bikelyness, but it does the job it was built for (and very well at that).
When I bought the bike it had 26,000 miles on it and it has done 3,000 miles since it's been in my custody.
As mentioned I paid £250 for it, but since then the parts have cost me about £950 so far (and I know it will be pointed out that some of that is normal running costs), but my question is am I setting the bar too high if I was to ask for £850(ish) for it and get knocked down from there? Looking on egay they are going for about £1000+
Any help is appreciated |

Look on ebay, gumtree etc to find our roughly what they are going for then sell it for as much as possible. ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07 |

Ideally £1200, which is what you spent on it. I will always be happy if a bike can take me a few miles and then get what I paid for it
set 1200 as buy it now, if someone offers you a grand then the miles you have added on and the consumable parts you've used would justify the £200.
(honda cbf 125 90 miles to 7,000 miles- lost £150 over 18 months )
If you have spent any money on boyracer cosmetic mods, I would wave that money good bye, half the time they make the bike worth less. |

Probably get more people interested sub-1k, 850ono sounds fine to me if all the parts and work you've done on it is good, but obviously we haven't seen it! Also depends how quickly you want to sell it, if you aren't in any rush at all then why not ask 950 and reduce it in a few weeks if it's not selling?

try out a search on ebay or autotrader, to find a similar bike.
That should give you an idea of a guide price ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N
