 |
|
I know, I know, yet another which bike thread. I'm really looking for some suggestions. So, here is the criteria.
1. Budget £2000 very much tops.
2. As low mileage as possible.
2. As young as possible.
3. 750cc+
4. Needs to be big, im 6ft 4in and 20 stone. The cat was a good size however, I'm not against something a little bigger/heavier still.
5. Sports or sports tourer style as it is used mainly for my commute to work everyday and runs with the club on a Sunday. Don't want a sore arse and wrists after 10 mins.
6. Prefer faired bikes to naked's as I ride through all weathers.
7. Undecided about IL4 or twin, open to your experiences here.
8. Survive doing ~12k miles a year.
9. More power than the 'Cat.
My list of candidates so far are
1. Honda SP2.
2. Honda VFR 800.
3. Yamaha R1, older model.
4. Yamaha YZF1000R Thunderace.
5. Honda Blackbird (liking this idea alot).
More suggestions and experiences are more than welcome ____________________ Gone: Haotian HT125-8 / Yamaha YZF 600R Thundercat / Kawasaki ZX9R C2

its a bit different to the bikes youve listed, but how about a paneuropean? it covers all of your requirements just as well, if not better than the bikes youve listed.
i got swapped my zxr750 for a k reg one with 39k on the clocks after needing something a litle more forgiving to a pillion, and i can safely say its one of the best bikes ive swung a leg over. im 6' and 17 stone, and i can go for a whole days riding and get off feeling as good as when i got on. it will do 300 miles to a tank, handle and accelerate a lot better than it should considering its size (many sportsbike riders have been suprised by a pan rider, and the police never used to have many probs catching up with less desirable riders! ), the weather protection from the fairing is excellent, they will easily do 250k, so 12k a year is nothing. they will commute, and potter around town easily as they carry the weight really well, its such a balanced bike, and it will keep up with most on a run out on a sunday.
the smooth v4 engine is a real treat too.
worth a consideration! |

Old Thread Alert!
