Running issue when engine is up to temperature?

When I need to change gear I pull in the clutch and the revs take way too long to die back down to idle. This only happens when the engine is up to normal running temp.
It doesn't affect the way I can ride the bike as I can still change gear no probs. At first I thought I may not be pulling enough clutch to release the plates so I have adjusted the clutch to pull more clutch but it is still the same. Revs taking a 2 to 3 seconds to die when I pull the clutch in. Recently changed the plug and it seemed a little grey if this is any indicaton.

Could it be a tiny air leak betix the air-box and carb or carb and engine?
Is your oil very old, so that when it`s cold it`s thick (everything appears to work) and when it gets hot it goes REALLY thin allowing the clutch plates to slip a bit more than they should?

Have you been mucking about with the carb and upset the stanard settings?

The bikes only done 2000 miles, I have just done an oil change so I am wondering if I have put too much oil in. It's a dry sump.

The previous owner had a race pipe on it so I am woundering if they had it up jetted.
It has the standard can on now.
