Bike : Car value - What is everyones?

Hi All,

Just wondering what the ratio (for those that have both) of value of peoples cars vs bikes is typically?

Reason I ask is I'm looking at spending twice the amount on a bike as my car is worth. Just wondering if I'm in a minority, or if others put more of their hand earned cash into their bike as opposed to their car?

As of recent, my cars have been maybe 10x cheaper than my bikes.


YZF450 = Just sold for £2200

My Fiesta = Bought it for £200.


TLR1000 = £2400 when I bought it

My Renault 5 = £250

when i first started riding i spend £1200 on my cbr600f and at the time my car was a 350Z worth £24,000. bit of a difference

For the price I paid (both 5 years ago), £11,000 car, £850 bike (13:1). For guesstimate market value now, £4,000 car, £650 bike (6:1). Car depreciation sucks the big one.
