ZZR 250 Brake Pad Retaining Clips

OK, to cut a long story short I only have 1 clip out of 2 on the front brake.

Meaning I've got a BANG BANG BANG as I'm riding, from the pad flying between the caliper pistons and disc, I'm assuming.

I've taken the bike off the road and have resorted to using my little CG until I can locate another retaining clip thingymajig.

This is my problem.

I caught wind off BCF somewhere that some brake pads come with these clips...

I've emailed a load of eBay sellers and nobody has confirmed this, they all say their brake pads do NOT come with retaining clips.

I can't find these for love nor money... anybody any ideas?

Do you mean the little bit that goes on the end of the pads? You won't get that with the pads.


Look at the picture attached is it your calipet and is it part 92081?


If so it is the same as these bikes. Any Kawasaki dealer should be able to get you one. Take your Vin number with you.

Sorry had a lot of editing to do with that one it cocked up first time.


Look at the GPZ fiche I linked you to above should be the same as your brake.

That part will probably be cheaper in an actually dealer however. Thumbs Up

Only problem is the local Kawasaki dealership are complete cowboys and I prefer to not give them the business.

I'll give them a call at lunch time. Are there any online fiches or anything I can order from?

Cheers mate, much appreciated.

I seem to remember whilst I had my front wheel out, I read somewhere saying 'watch the retaining clips, they can sometimes fly out'

I knew not the first thing about calipers and disc brakes.

So when I put the wheel back in I needed to put the pads back in and only had one retaining clip. So, I'm guessing it flew out and I can't find it anywhere!

Bike still rideable but I'd rather lay off it until I can put it back together properly.

Just ordered two of those buggers incase it ever happens again in the future although I'll try ensure it doesn't!
