on a peugeot speedfight 2 furious 50 air cooled. iv checked the MC for pressure and there is pressure there, so i dont think thats at fault, iv bought a new caliper so its not that, but no matter how much i try to bleed it, no pressure will build up at all. iv nearly gone through a whole tub of dot 4 and its driving me mad. what could be the problem? theres no blockage because fluid is getting through. ideas? cheers Karma

Have you tried bleeding from the master cylinder banjo? Apply pressure to the brake lever, then quickly snap open and shut the banjo bolt. Fluid comes out so place rags around the area to protect your paint. Do this a few times at the MC and it should help, try the same thing at the caliper banjo bolt too if you are still struggling.

Does the brake line loop around above the master cylinder? Could be a bubble trapped there? Air rises in the brake system (albeit bubbles rise quite slowly) but if you had a loop of brake line above the MC and above the caliper then you could have a pocket of air. Same thing goes for other high points in the caliper too, if the banjo is higher than the bleed nipple for instance you can get a little pocket of air forming here, bleeding at the banjo can remove this.

Take the caliper off the bike and put it on the floor to bleed it, that way gravity will help you get the fluid down to it. A length of clear hose placed on the bleed nipple can also be sucked on to get fluid through.Alternately once the fluid is through the system the last of the air can be got out by holding the caliper up high so that the air all pools there.
