I'm new in the UK, so don't know nufin! Been looking at this place to buy gear at. https://stores.ebay.co.uk/GhostBikes-Store Seems like they have some great deals on defective goods, but they are way up north. Is there anywhere like this near London. I'd rather go in person to try things on.

Thanks
Rog

they seem to specialise in motocross gear

I cant stand motorcross gear on the road. I have a really nice MX helmet, I must have had a 100 compliments about it but I still refuse to wear it on the road. I assume you are riding on the road?

If so prepare for a soggy wet face if you wear a mx helmet.

Also winter is approaching, and you wont notice the difference between being naked and wearing mx gear when it goes down to -5

otherwise duchinni is my favorite brand. Dirt cheap but VERY comfortable.

Try Hein Gericke, they have shops all over the place. Bit expensive but will give you an idea of what you like and sizes etc. I have bought stuff from Ghostbikes before and its always been good but make sure you check the sizes as some things seem to come up smaller on me.

Or im just getting fatter!

A good idea if you're shopping at Hein Gericke is always haggle with them. I'm guessing they are paid on commission or have some kind of target to hit because they are very, very eager to get as many sales as possible. If you make them believe the only reason you wont buy something is because it is slightly over budget they will probably take anywhere from 10% to 20% of the price off for you. However do your research beforehand. The first time I went in, the sale man knew I was inexperienced and tried to push me into buying more expensive gear.

I have bought some TCX S-Zero boots from Ghostbikes before and I love them. I had no problems with Ghostbikes when they delivered them.

Not sure where in London you are, but I use J&S in Watford who have a massive store, Hein Gericke in Harrow and on the North Circular but the stores aren't that big with a limited selection compared to J&S and Lids direct/Lloyd Cooper motorcycles who are in Watford too.

My local J&S is OK, and I agree that both Hein Gericke and J&S will give you a discount if you (honestly) tell them that it's out of your price range and you'll just go and buy it online. Walk for the door - if they don't quote you happy, follow through on the online purchase.
