carb heater

hi all i cleaned my carb when i first got in any way there is some wires going to it and apparently its a carb heater.

now i know what it is for but dose this thing know when to come on or do i have to do something and is there a way to see if its working can i put a multimeter on on start up or dose it have to be cold before it comes on,
its a cg125 2001 it has kick and push starter

they have a temp sensor that tells it to switch on when it gets colder

i doubt it would do anything to performance even if it didn't work

probably best to look in the haynes manual how to check it if your concerned

no not concerned just did not want to set off in the cold and i get carb icing thanks for the reply though
