Hi,

Am looking to find a cheap way of getting satnav on the bike. Don't want any of the bike specific ones and am not bothered about being able to see the screen.

It needs to have a headphone port and i have to be able to tell it what route I want to take. I can find car sat nav's that allow you to plot your route on a computer and then it'll follow it but none of them seem to have a headphone port.

Other option considered is to pay for software for either my work Iphone or personal Android, Not sure about Iphone but android only gets 500 mb internet a month so needs to store everything ono the phone.

What do you lot use?

i use my sony erricsson x8 just like a real sat nav with google maps, has turn by turn navigation, all you need is a internet bolt on (or wifi connection) to download directions and off you go.

I've got a mount of this kind, then a 12V power socket available on ebay for £5 or so, and wired in myself, then an ebay special satnav to finish it up.

It all works pretty well, and has been doing so for a while now Smile.

Navigon app for the iPhone.
Headphones.
IPhone in jacket pocket.
Done.
No need to bother with the 500mb data allowance, as Navigon's maps are pre-installed, so only uses GPS, for tracking.
