I got this email this morning, which half annoyed me.

When I took the policy out I had 1yr NCB from my Daytona's policy which ended January this year.
I've run up 3 policies with individual no claims.... so I have 3 1 year no claims discounts..

So I sent Bennetts my NCB proof Friday and got this today.

Quote:
Mr Newman,

Thank you for sending us your proof of no claims bonus.

I note that your previous policy expired in January of this year, have you had any other insurance since this date? If not, please could you confirm the reason for this.

Regards,
Bennett's

Why on earth do they want to know about my previous insurance...is it any business of theres at all? Asking why i've not had insurance as well? Explain my reason for not having insurance....er I didnt have the bike then!?

What are they talking about!? Laughing

No need to get upset, its probably just a routine check. I would send something like this:

"Dear Mr Bennetts.

I am confused about why you are asking this question. I had a policy with xxx insurer for xxx bike that expired in January this year. This policy had accrued 1 years NCD. I now have a different bike and I have applied this NCD to my new policy in the normal fashion when I took it out with Bennetts.

I trust this satisfies your query, if you have any more specific questions please send them by return and I will be more than pleased to answer.

Regards
Paddy."

Ah, I mentioned thus on another thread and was met by puzzled stares. ( points at G )

They are checking that you are not reusing the NCD. in that possibly the policy expired in January, you took another policy and made a claim which affected that NCD. you could now be using the same NCD to set their policy up.

Just state that NCD has not been used on other vehicles in the interim period as you had no bike to use it on.

Yep then when you get pulled by the cops who want to confiscate your bike because your insurance was cancelled you can tell them to 'do one' too. And the Magistrates they can also 'do one'.
