Just thought that I'd let people know that they have the disk lock in at 7.99 in my local store looks good quality.

They may be starting to get some more gear items in over the few weeks, this one is tools looks like some good ones at that.

Nah, it just says everything about the rioters. When you're looking to tax the latest, expensive,top line mobile phones, large screen TVs and branded "sports"gear, it must be a disappointment to be presented with a store full of cheap tins of beans and basic food stuff, and low cost obscure branded consumer electronic and DIY items.

It's not, "Here's this store that sells all this expensive gear we can't afford on our meager incomes, let's burn it down as a protest against flaunting their blatant affluence in our faces", it's more a case of, "This is crap, who wants all this dirt cheap food and unbranded cheap stuff. Where's the bling in that? Let's torch it anyway"

I didnt actually KNOW that the Lidl's et. al. actually sold FOOD. I get most of my unusual bits and pieces from there, electric winches, rattle guns, some quite good tools too. I know its Chinese crap, but, so far, the stuff has done its job. What I wonder is where will the wino's go for their fix now?

I'm pretty sure its German, hence the good quality of lots of the gear.

They may buy Chinese shit but highly doubt it. Please, correct me if I'm wrong, though.

I'm guessing it'll fit both front and rear disk? Anyone know if that's right cos I'm thinking of buying 2, 1 for front and rear so that when the bikes parked up in my mates garage it'll give me that slight extra feeling of protection.

Plus they'll go for his bike first if mine looks too much trouble to nick Razz

Depends on the disc design. That lock uses a pin to lock it, if the pin will fit through one of the venting holes in your disc then yes it will fit, if it wont or if you don't have drilled discs then because most rear discs are not floating, it probably wont.


You don't need two anyway. Disc locks prevent someone rolling up, jamming a screwdriver in the ignition, breaking the steering lock and riding away. They do not prevent white van man from picking it up and stuffing it in his van, no number of disc locks will stop this - you need good chains and immovable objects like ground anchors to stop this.

Yes, I'm sure most amateur morons are capable too tbh.


As rogerborg said, it is a visual deterrent and a minor mechanical deterrent.


Rather than buying two of them you'd be better off buying something gross and sticky to put on the handlebars and all over the seat, that is about as good a deterrent as an additional shit disclock.

Most of the lidl stuff is pretty decent quality, most of it has to pass the TUV tough testings Very Happy you could always wait for the lidl tenner chain locks Very Happy
