Buy a set of anodised allen key fasteners from ebay. Most sellers tailor them to specific bikes. If you start painting your nuts ( Very Happy ) its going to look shit. Seriously. And as you say, first spanner you take to them all the paint is going to chip off.

Stay away from anodised aluminium bolts - they have no place on a bike, they strip easy and snap off at the first signs of torque.

Stop being a ponce, just replace them all with stainless steel, use a ruler to measure them all up and buy packs of them on ebay, you can buy all the ones you need with the same again left over and still spend less than you would on a coloured "kit".

Just to make clear, i would NEVER, EVER have anodised aluminium allen key bolts on my bike, its tacky and only one step away from neons in my eyes, but each to their own. Thumbs Up

I'd suggest dipping them in Blue Dragon Chinese Curry Sauce - nothing in the world shifts that stuff...

So why advise me to? Dick end.

I want to paint them as in spray paint then lacquer, might just give it a shot and see what happens.

Very happy to hear of not using aliminuim bolts, as i'be just replaced all ( 90 %) my crappy nickel plated bolts with stainless steel. AFAIK, there are lightweight decent alturnatives, but whole bike must cost hundreds to do, and i'd be better off losing some fucking weight!

Theres a seller called boltmeup on fleabay whos sells loads at the best price, free post.

Now he sells so called bike packs, about 15 quid. Buy one of them, then order the rest when you come accross them.

Guessing it cost me about 50 quid, well worth it imo. Thumbs Up

I wouldn't use them because they look shit and aren't to my taste, very 'Chav' IMO just like Monster graphics Rolling Eyes .

And also, if you were going to just "Spray paint then lacquer" then why ask for advice?

If you insist on painting them then allen/torx head bolts would be the easiest to paint because the only part that is in contact with the tool is the hole in the middle. What I would do is stick a blob of blue tac or putty in the hole before painting them to mask it off, paint away then cut the middle out and remove the blue tac.

As for hex head bolts, if you paint the sides it will chip and look shit as soon as you put them back in.

Because i wanted to know if anyone had done it before so i could get some advice like you said. Eh?

Don't give advice on something if you yourself think it's a bad idea, i wouldn't advise you on sticking your dick in a blender or cleaning your bike chain with the engine running whilst in gear, it's just down right retarded. Laughing

If you paint your bolts be prepared to have to repaint them every time you take a spanner or a socket to them again.

But all the advice says don't paint them, they will look crap and won't be hard wearing, yet you are going to anyway......

The advice i gave you was perfectly valid. You wanted your nuts and bolts a different colour from standard. To my knowledge there aren't any options available for you in stainless, so i said go anodised.

Just because i wouldn't put them on my own bike is irrelevant, thats down to taste.

Missing my point.

Anyway i will paint them as a test, its not for my bike, there for my skates. Laughing

Well i dunno about them chipping everytime you take a spanner to them because i've seen gloss black nuts on some quad skates before on the trucks (axles) and they get removed after every session, still looked good, maybe it was magic or maybe theres a way to seal in the paint so it doesn't come off so easy? Laughing
