So having passed my mod2, I'm looking for my first bike. I like the look of the SV650 but notice that so many only have the upper fairings and I think the bike looks a lot better with lower fairings added.

Are the lower fairings easy to add as an aftermarket upgrade?

Ta.

Just buy the SV650 with fairings?
Usually you would need to buy the subframe for the fairings...seems obviously to go for an SV with them already on Thumbs Up

theres three models of curvy sv thers the unfaired and upright model with no front fairings and a round headlight think thats th (x) mode.

then theres the model i have which is the (s) which has no lower fairing.

then theres the full faired version which if im wright is the sx and some models change in insurance group by a point i think its the s(s) and (sx) model which are one group higher than the (x) model

good look and great 1st bike.not as slow as alot make out either.

The SV650 only comes in two base models, but two different year models. There are a couple other ones such as the SV650 Sport and the SV650SU which is only in the Australian market.

First gen:

Fully faired:

Second gen:

SV650S:

Fully faired:

There are a few little model differences however, the second generation SV650 started being sold in 2003. They changed the fairing from silver to matte black in 2005.

Also, including the SV650 and the SV650S they started selling the SV650 Sport in the UK which is basically an SV650S.

Adding fairings to a bikini-faired SV650S would be pretty simple, a few holes to drill and some clips probably but that's it. However it'd be a much better economy to just buy a fully faired one from the off.

I hope that helps!
