Right... following a few conversations over in New Bikers I am intrigued to see if there is a pattern to our pass/fail statistics. Does it matter which test centre you take your test at or what time of year etc?

I intend to put together some sort of database I can put raw data into, query and spot trends, like "no-one ever passes in Luton" or "don't take your A2 in March" or something.

So what I need from you lot is:

For each practical* test you have taken (both mod1 and mod2 if applicable)
- The type of test it was (e.g. A2 mod1)
- When you took it (month and year)
- The test centre you took it at
- The bike you took the test on
- Whether you were school-taught and the school where you did the majority of your training if so
- Your test result

So, for me, as I did my test before mod1/mod2 existed, my details are:
Quote:

DAS Practical
July 2006
Tonbridge Wells
Honda CB400 Super-four
School: Kickstart Bethnal Green
Fail

DAS Practical
August 2006
Pinner
Honda CB400 Super-four
School: Kickstart Bethnal Green
Pass

* - I am not interested in Theory Test results as these are computerised and, therefore, standardised, in theory (no pun intended)

It is already done and available on the web site.

There are fluctuations, but any major ones are investigated. Examiners do go from one test station to another. I went to four different test stations in a week and had the same examiner at each. Passed three failed one.

Some stations do have their little quirks on routes, but if you have been taught correctly then they shouldn't be an issue, also all routes are put on the web site, but may differ due to road works or time of day due to traffic.

an examiner who has more than the average passes will be investigated just as much as those who have less than average passes, also those who always have the average.

Examiners are not concerned if you pass or fail, they want you to be safe and those around you.

I have seen poor drivers pass on the day because they kept it all together and good drivers fail because they don't perform on that day.

As for having the same examiner, they see so many people they normally wont recognise you.

The only time I could say I had more passes than my average was after very bad weather when loads of tests had been cancelled, but that could have been that my pupils were more than ready than normal.

I don't really know what you mean.

The pass rate for women doing Mod 1 is significantly lower than for men. It's OK to say that, it's just citing the DSA's figures.

What's it's not OK to say is that this is down to weeping mewling surrender kittens giving up immediately after the chauvinist misogynist pig of a so-called examiner fails them unreasonably - well, you try doing a cone weave in heels while trying to fix your make-up.

In fact, I'm shocked that you would even suggest such a thing. What sort of a woman-hating monster are you? Your sort makes me sick and ashamed to be a man, or as it should be called, half a womyn. Sick

I presume you realise statistics per test center are available - or are for Cat C tests anyway (seems the only place to get 100% was the Orkney isles or something - possibly because they're all each other's cousins and there's only three roads there Razz.)

Anyway:
September 01 (err, maybe)
Reading
GS500
School: Lightning motorcycle training
Fail - 3 serious 3 minors, though I think I'd have been fine with the other 2 serious ones if it wasn't for the first.

October 01 (err, maybe)
Reading
GS500
School: Lightning motorcycle training
Pass 5 minors

or the alternative to this attempt at humour would have been to just answer the question or shut up.

I would have answered the question from the OP, but who cares - it's historical and changing, mate it's just a waste of time - do something else...more, well useful?

Looking good, the sample space is widening so thanks to everyone who has responded so far rather than just saying "grumble grumble it's been done before grumble" - Christ if I was offering you a free trip to the moon you'd bitch because someone's already been there.
