Something to do with my rear shock has just gone I think, I'm noticing more that I'm getting a very bumpy ride even on relatively decent roads.

How do I check what the problem is? I can bounce the shock quite freely by pushing the back end up and down and it doesn't seem to dampen my efforts so I'm guessing the shock is part 1 of the problem...

Part 2 there is some free play if I get above the bike and pull upwards on the swing arm there's up and down free play. So a bearing/bush/seal must've gone on the shock linkage... the rebuild kits are like £142.00 though.

What's my cheapest way of fixing these two things and can I do it myself? (I've changed a shock on my TZR before, but that was straight from the swingarm to the frame).

Just bought a new tyre @ £115 so I'm a bit broke at the moment, any advice appreciated!
