Hi guys.

Spent a fair while searching tonight and still not 100% sure which is the best way to go about it.

After being without a bike all summer Sad my bike's finally ready and just had a full bottom end rebuild, and the piston has been changed too. It has only done 2700 so I think all other parts are fine.

I shall be using Castrol TTS oil and I know i need to let the bike warm up properly before etc, but how would you go about running it in?

Cheers lads.

People say don't rev it high people say use all the rev range

Ride normally but don't belt it all the time
do try to use most of the rev range but don't hold it in a certain gear at a certain Rpm for too long
Don't slap the rev limiter
Warm it up properly

Thumbs Up

I'm a rookie so i would wait for one of the pros to come along and confirm my advice Rolling Eyes

less than 6000rpm for 500 miles.

I ran mine in 250 miles below 6k rpm.
then every 100 miles I increased it 500rpm
once I got to 8k rpm I started opening it up every now and then to 10/11.

Keep it low for the first few hundred to be sure.
