Morning

Doing my Mod 2 next week (second attempt) at Colwick Test Centre in Nottingham. Now I don't know the area at all well and feel it would have been of benefit to have run around at least some parts of the Test Route before my first attempt !

I've searched the Net but can't find any links - can anyone help ?

Thanks

DSA dont publish test routes anymore.

If the test centre is fairly close just have a ride round to get a feel for the area. Course you could always follow a test or 2 Wink

Yep that's what I thought !

Still - I was planning to have a run around in the car to get a better feel for the area anyway - and if I see a test going on I could always follow your suggestion !

Expect to go through Gedling, Carlton, (take particular note of the one way streets just past the police station on the left - position yourself well to the right to turn out). out through mapperley top into the countryside for a max speed limit run. Could also like me go through Burton Joyce plenty of stop start join traffic etc. Also did the independant ride here - not difficult. However the other way is out through trent bridge (beware of the bus lane) down wilford lane out onto the ring road for the dreaded lane disipline island at the top of the A52. Also beware of the 5mph speed limit at Colwick centre as he/she follows you out, don't forget to indicate at the gates. Thats about it, as per the previous post have a run round in your car, all the best.

Just a little word of warning, i dont know what its like down your way with tests but up here in Scotland i was going to do the same (follow someone on their test) but after speaking to one or two instructors the advised against it,reason being if the examiner see's you he will remember you and it means he isnt concentrating on the person doing his test, and if he does remember you he will give you a earful when its your turn and possibly watch for evey little mistake you make, just a little heads up,,good luck with your test mate.

No reason at all why you can't follow a test.

It is conducted on a Public road, your bike is, or should be, road legal inc road tax, hence you have a right to be there.

As Instructors we are well within our rights to ask to follow a test and the Examiner has to agree - even in Scotland Wink
