I wish that had happened to the dude who lives behind me. Every other day he'd just start his R6 up and rev the twat off it for a few minutes, then switch it off.

I only ever saw him ride it once in 2 years. Rolling Eyes Clown.

deffo man reving a engine high while there is no load (ie not in gear) does awful damage to the internals. you rev to the exact amount you need to ride how you would like to ride, reving the bike while not in gear does nothing apart from waste and/or damage! you might see some blip the throttle as the come down through the gear box but this is not the same.

Watched some of the other crashes and it seems like the sort of people who go on to crash a nice bike are mostly wearing t-shirts and jeans....coincidence? or does it show their brainpower?

Depends what you mean by 'over revving'.

I personally think when a bike screams past or when you're riding a bike that's screaming along and you start to slow the bike down, when you blip the throttle to change gear accompanied by a lovely over-rev and a loud pop from the backfiring exhaust sounds absolutely fantastic.

Although I do agree with riders of 50ccs revving the tits off their engines for no reason, they sound awful at the best of times but when they are doing that it's just dire.

Depends on the bike for me, a moped revving it's tits off sounds gay but a bigger bike with an aftermarket end can giving it the beans sounds awesome.

As paulington said, a high revving overun and the banshee like scream at the redline is up there on the aural climax league table.

lol total agree its just that noise is a bit to much but there's nothing like the sound of a proper bike
