Here Is some consolation for other learners who failed THE MODULE 2 on something minor: I took my mod 2 yesterday. First attempt, reasonably confident- dropped the bike. Ended up on a road I had never been on before 'AT THE END OF THE ROAD TURN LEFT THEN AN IMMEDIATE RIGHT ', not knowing the road I missed the right turn, tried to take it at a sharp angle, the bike stalls and crashes over.. Examiner leaves me there, goodbye 80 odd quid.

Should have just carried on straight then taken the next turning if you missed the turn. Cant fail you providing you do it safely.

Could have just said you missheard.

The examiner just left you there? I think not.

As Pinky said, next time just continue straight on as you will not be failed for going the wrong way as the radios are a pain so people often misinterpret the directional instructions. Even on my Module 2 I went the wrong way once or twice because my examiner had a heavy Scottish accent so I could barely understand him at the best of times let alone through a sea of interference and white noise!

You know for next time, simple. Best of luck.

But yeah just like the others have said, if you miss the turning , just carry on, he'll just redirect you.

It's possible I guess - when I was waiting to do my Mod1 in the waiting room, a woman came in with a clipboard out of breath and with a slight sweat on. When I spoke to my examiner during my test, it turned out she was a car examiner and had just failed a candidate for doing something dangerous. And she had left the candidate and car at the point of failure, and walked 2.5 miles back to the test center. The instructor/owner of the car had to get a taxi out to his student to recover them!

I couldn't believe it, I thought he was taking the piss. I thought "how could an examiner leave a student who had just failed their test in charge of a motor vehicle without any supervision?" but apparently that is what they are entitled to do!

But I'm sure the examiner in this case didn't just leave the guy in the road, but perhaps did not allow/want him to ride again until the instructor was there? Question

They aren't allowed to take you back to the test centre- health and safety. Don't know about cars.

Yeah hearing that I could have just missed it, I wished I just carried on, spur of the moment I thought I could get the speed down to make a sharp turn. Damn it. I feel more relaxed about the next one now though.

I failed in 2006 and was brought back to base.

As already suggested above, if you miss a turn, do whatever else would be safe (and legal) to execute. I was so nervous I started off my own mod 2 brilliantly by going straight into private property at the first roundabout one minute into the test, but the examiner just told me to come back out and he was waiting for me just after the correct exit, and off we went again. Probably good not to disobey every direction he/she give though, but otherwise can't fail you for not following the route perfectly.
