Hey all,
Well, couldn't get a Baby Varadero in my price range (£1000 max) so was looking around Gumtree for a cg or something dull that I could get practice on and saw a 2006 bike.
Trouble is it had a heck of a lot of miles, 60,000. For a car that's about right, maybe even a bit over the average.
Anyway, checked it out last night, the screen is missing (damaged) but I'm getting one from the seller next week as he already had one on order, all in the price I paid btw
The bike has Brand new tires, new chain, plugs, Oil change, pads done front and rear. 8 Months Tax and MOT.
So, bad points is the Screen, faring has a minor few cracks but still looks OK. Few scratches here and there also.
Took a punt and got it for £820 and I now have a ............BABY VARADERO V5
Had to ride her home in the London rush hour, Newham, Blackwall Tunnel and so. Only did the CBT last week so pretty daunting as it happens but the Bike gives me a lil bit of confidence and I was trying to be on bestest behavior.
Bike never missed a beat, engine is quick, responsive and NOT NOISY AT ALL
I pray I'm not speaking to soon but I always wanted one when I first saw them.
It's probably the highest mileage Varadero 125 I've seen by a long way but I'm freakin happy!!
My theory is, it's a Honda V-Twin, the engine looks/sounds pretty well looked after and these engines are fairly rugged.
Sorry for going on but it's my first bike in many, many years.
I'll chuck her in for a service soon enough though, just in case. |

I actually want a few done so I'll be sure to post them when they are done.
60,000 is worrying though... |
