Hi All,

Me and a mate bought a Yamaha Thundercat off a friend from works husband due to them relocating and wanting to leave as much stuff behind as possible.

The poor bike had a spill in 2001 Neutral and has been sat in their garage ever since. Occasionally it got took up and down their street, but it hasn't really seen daylight within the last few years.

The plastics are all in all shot to pieces, most of the lugs are broken and there are some deep scratches / scuffs. Front end is covered in oil / brake fluid so needs a good clean.

Casings on both side are scratched and the oil one is cracked.

We got it for a reasonable price given the amount of time we'll need to spend on it and all the bits we will need to source.

Unsure if we'll keep it at the end, or sell it on, we'll see what the future holds. For now, it'll keep us occupied and help us learn a bit more about motorcycles with the great help of the bcf forums Thumbs Up

Some pictures of the poor girl after we got her home this morning.

So...
Engine cases
Touch up tank paint
Make / fix / give up on lugs
New fluids and filter
Check nothing is rotton
Stick on a headlight
Then she's good to ride? Obviously they look prettier with plastics on, but they're damn expensive in original colours and probably won't bump the resale value up by as much as you spend on them.
