hi,
other day i was riding along and all all a suddon my PV stopped working!?
took off the valve housing and the cable had come off the blade. tried putting it bk on n the the lump of metal on the end of the cable is too small when i put it on the bade it just slips bk through the hole??
any ideas new cable probs?
Bike is a aprilia rs 125 52 plate

Hi
Possible the nipple on the end of the cable has worn away, or that the notch for it in the power valve blade has worn (unlikely though - the nipple should be FAR softer metal than the power valve).
Get a new cable and try that.
However one possibility is that the valve is in upside down. If this is done then there is next to nothing to stop the cable nipple just coming out from the blade sideways.

Blades and cables are very cheap, loads on ebay, or these are very good with Aprilia's

There is also a crude with the use of locktight and a screw with locking nut to secure the blade open at all times, this causes a little low end rev power but nothing too serious. |

hi mate ,
yh the nipple on the cable had worn so ordering a new 1.
for now though i have bent it a bit and it now stays in in the blade,
checked the operation of the whole lot and all works ok out of the bike. but wen i put it bk in it doesnt seem to "kick in" like it used to??
befor wen i got to 8.5k RPM i could feel it altot, wer as now i cant?
