Hi All,

I have a Suzuki Burgman 250 that I am looking into selling at the end of this month, September or during August.

I acquired the vehicle on 10/04/2010 for the main purpose of commuting to an from work. Easy to ride, cheap to run and plenty of storage.

I now have my car test booked for the end of this month, and if all goes well I will be getting a car and leaving the bike for the first winter in my 6 years on the bike Embarassed

The bike is on an 'S' plate, 1998, first registered 01/08/1998.

Silver in colour, 249cc with just under 14,500 miles on the clock (it had around just under 10,000 when I acquired it).

The scooter however has seen some better days and will be in need of some tlc. It will be for sale on SORN and with no MOT.

At the moment, the front brakes have started to seize and I should imagine the back ones are the same. If you know what your doing, it should be a cheapish job, or a few hours work at a local garage should be sufficient.

The other downfall is the exhaust heat shield is no longer present. About 6 months ago now the gf's mother 'didn't see it' when reversing off the drive and took the thing out. Unfortunately they are welded onto the actual exhaust so I had to bin the heat shield and have done without ever since. It looks slightly tatty, and would look nicer with a new exhaust, but I havent been bothered paying the £100 odd for a new one when (a) it's a scooter! and (b) it's just used for commuting. Now if I had a nice shiny CBR600 RR again, I would have replaced it!

Also, there is some scuffing on the fairing from when it hit the deck, although not major, but still not 100% perfect. Few rusty looking bolts here and there to be expected with age.

Have a new set of brake pads and a new drive belt which will go with the bike. Belt is fine however, just bought as a spare, only £20. Pads are also ok, but good to have spares ready, they were also fairly cheap.

Slightly stubborn when starting if it has been rained on, no facility to dry store it over night so should imagine something is getting a bit wet. Starts no problems when dry though!

New oil and filter around April this year, also did this when acquired the previous year. Little in the way of service hsitory, the previous guy did it himself for the year or two he had it but has some receipts.

I paid £1,000 for this nifty scooter but understand I wont get near this given the work needed and the scuffs etc.

I should imagine if you know what your are doing it will be a few hours work and little £££, even if you need to go to a garage, it should be no more than £100 - £200 work.

More than welcome for people to come have a look round etc / inspect it - nothing to hide - being as honest as possible.

No reasonable offer will be refused. Only selling as I cant really afford to get a car / pay insurance and pay to do this up all at once. If I cant get a good amount back on her then I will stash it away until after winter and fix her up then.

Given all the negativity it is super cheap to run, tax and insure. Consumables cost next to nothin, oil & filter change is under £20 for parts and only takes 5-10 minutes. Tyres were replaced a few months back and will have loads of miles left in. They only cost £65 a pair!!!! Top box and rack included.

Bike is near Brackley, Northamptonshire, NN13.

Please only message if you are actually interested, can then send some pictures as have none on the pc, showing the damage and condition etc.

Regards,

Nathan
