Well i passed my mod 2 on 30th aug as said in other thread.

But now im bike hunting.

I did want an r6, or a similar sports bike type but went to look at a honda hornet (1999, t reg, 34k miles) and fell in love with it.

Maybe i fell in love with it coz its the first one ive looked at? No idea - but i left a deposit till i can get the money together (next week).

He took me out on it for a test ride, he was riding, and the power compared to what ive been on before in unreal, i am actually glad i didnt opt for the r6, this is fast enough!!

Now my question is, is 34000 miles a lot for a bike? or for this bike? or for honda?

Im not sure about service history, its been done by himself i think, hes owned it for the last 2 years and its been stored outside for that time. Hardly any weather marks on the engine but theres nothing that wont come off with a clean.

He does service it as he took me through were to put everything and how to do it, he also possessed a halfrauds trade card so he really has no excuse not to service it?

Anyways, 34000 miles - is it high?

The bike is costing £1100 - cheap/expensive?

T reg, 34k miles, 10 months mot, 8 months tax, few 'extras' on it, new brakes n crap etc.

Just need opinions as to what im buying.

Well to compare, i bought a 04 hornet, with just under 7k on the clock, full service history, 12 mths mot and about 6 mths road tax for 3k from a Honda dealer.

Agreed on the power. I had been looking at a CBF600 and I knew I didn't like the riding position of the CBR. The bike is nippy but solid too and Although I have only clocked 70 miles, I am in love already. Handled really well on the motorway and I had loads of spare power.

34,000 is not really high, especially for a well-maintained Honda. So long as it has had the various service items attended to (valve clearances etc) then it ought to go for another 34,000 and more.

Price seems about right to me, but worth a haggle if you're up for it.
