I need some assistance...

I have a size 54 crash helmet head. I cannot find any lids in shops which are just size 54 (and not 53/54 or 54/55).

My current Suomy is just that bit too tight 53/54, whereas my mates BMW 54 fits me perfectly. She buys her lids from the eBay, but I would rather go to the shop and try it on before purchase - just to be sure.

Anyone know where in the south east I might be able to source a 54? Preferrably plain black.

Cheers in advance peeps. Thumbs Up

Don't the main BMW bike dealers stock helmets? or are you after a different make? P&H Motorcycles in Crawley are a pretty big dealership. Maybe give them a call and ask them before you go if its miles away from you. Other than that have a ride to George Whites in Swindon, they have a large range.

Some helmets (most Shoei's, for instance) allow you to get different size cheek and forehead pads; so you can buy a specific size and alter it a little either way to suit (in some cases I believe say a medium and small will use the same basic shell, just with different pads.)

Stupid question maybe; can't you just go online and buy an identical helmet to your friend's if it fit so well?

Hmm, do you know if Suomy do this...? If I could get the forehead pad shaved slightly I won't have a problem with the lid I have. It's been driving me bonkers recently (only noticed it as a pillion - as I have nothing much to think about apart from anchoring during braking).

She paid £26 for hers on fleabay. I looked and they retail at £345, I am NOT paying that much for a lid.

No, nor would I. Thumbs Up
