Eek - Noob with a potential Issue - Advice?

Hi guys, I've had my bike for a few months now, passed my CBT in May so I've got a little bit of experience of being out on the road, although my experience with maintenance on the bike is basically non-existent (which I am really needing to get cracking with to be honest).

Got the bike stored in a big metal shed, that's practically a garage, and using some sort of stand with it, can't remember exactly what it's called.. shall attempt explaining though:

It's got a piece on the front which rotates forwards and backwards to accommodate the front wheel, and once the front wheel is fully rolled in, it locks quite firmly and takes a good push to knock the bike back off the stand..

Anyway, had just been out and came back home, put the bike in the shed.. went in the house and a few minutes later heard a bit of a bang, so went to have a look..

Bike had fell off to the right hand side, so I got it back up, but there was some fuel leaked on the floor.. anyway, got the bike out, and plonked it outside next to the house for the night.. so gonna go check on it tomorrow morning.

Just wondering if anything bad could have happened? Should be safe just to turn it on and everything tomorrow morning right?

Fuel might have drained out of the carb making it reluctant to start tomorrow. Just hold the throttle full open as you try to start it then close it when it sounds like it's beginning to start so that you don't rev the tit's off it.
It sounds like you're storing it in a cycle storage thingy and putting the front wheel in something designed for a bicycle. Use the side or center stand on the bike itself.

If you only had the front wheel up it may have rolled slightly on the back wheel.

Leave it in gear if that's the case. Just remember it's in gear before you start though.

Sounds like one of those bike bump stop things. With the bike standing up is there any fuel leaking out still? Patches of oil? Like Frost said, hold the throttle open and give it the beans if its reluctant to start.

One of my mates dropped their bike on their side whilst parking it in the bikes sheds at college (well I say dropped, he was still on it, it was rather funny Laughing

) and there was fuel on the floor.
He got rather concerned about this (quite rightly so) but I pointed out to him that it was probably due to the fuel going down the overflow pipes - and I was right too.

Hopefully that's all that's happened to your bike too - nothing expensive Very Happy
