So after I blew my YPVS control unit up I attempted to replace the obvious damage (the blown diode) but it still doesn't want to work.
I attached the pulley housing anyway so i can choose between open and closed.
Just had a few blasts with the power valve open and it goes like a rocket (nothing like the 500 but still good for overtaking crap that gets in my way).
Obviously I'm revving it to things like 10.5k where the redline is 11k, is this going to wear my engine any quicker? It seems to be running cooler than when the PV was closed (my theory on this is because it wouldn't rev past 8k due to restricted airflow and so was being choked out). |
