Hi,

First post and all Smile

Just wondered if anybody can advise me whether to buy a Shark RSR2 helmet or not. I have Arai now and Im a small fit, are Shark similar sizing to Arai?

How comfy is the Shark RSR2 compared to the Arai Quantum E? Are they quiet?

I need to buy a new lid as mine is 14yrs old and didnt want to have to spend £400+ on an Arai if something like a Shark would do.

Cheers
Nick.

If you wear an Arai, then the chances are a Shark will fit you as well; at least it works that way for me. It's just Shoei's that won't fit my head.

I haven't got personal experience of the RSR, but I've used an RSI for the last few years and been more than happy with it - they're very light, well vented and aerodynamic. I'd buy another...

I've got the RSF2i or something, I like it. Sometimes the visor lets it down but it's not the end of the world.

Try one on and buy it if it fits.

I've disagree with the above. My head fits Shark, but not Arai. I do also fit Shoei and AGV though.

I have an RSR2.
Mine gave me a headache when I first used to wearit. I was gutted thinking I'd spent loads and it was just OUCH! I wanted to rip it off my head every 20 minutes or so it was soo bad.

I stuck my hand up under the lining to see if there were pins or something there...... there were little nipple type things of polystyrene, I rubbed them off and it fits fine and dandy now Smile . Had it 2 years and the inner foam is still ok.

I went from an Arai to a Shark, seems to fit my head.
Only problem I've had with the Shark is rain getting in via the vents on the top!

Thanks for the great response Smile

Just been for a run round the lakes, not been long back into biking and was worried my CBR929RRY was gonna be the wrong bike to get back into it but Im loving it. It pootles along nicely lol.

I think from what Ive read that they can be a little snug on the forehead and around the ears but if it is that pimple of polystyrene its an easy fix.

Theres a couple of Foggy reps on ebay for £229 and they got me thinging about the Shark lid. I'll not get a chance to try one on before they end so I might take the gamble?

Ive got a Shark RSI Fireshark. I don't know how that compares with yours but...

I went to it after years of HJC helmets cause I liked the design Embarassed and it seemed to fit fine in the shop.

I wear glasses and have found that I was getting headaches and pressure on my temples when wearing them with the helmet that I never got with the HJC ones. I have actually got contact lenses for riding now so I can still use that helmet.

I also find its a much closer fit around the chin piece.

It's a nice helmet, but when I get my next one I will be returning to HJC.

Thanks for the input.

Can anybody tell me how to measure my head lol.

As said, I have an Arai small but my tape measure says my head is bigger at 57/58cm. Do I stick with the Arai size or go with the tape measure.

Ideally I should be trying one on I know but somebody might have been in this position before.

Thanks,

I guessing the small will be too small for me then.

I'll try and get to a shop over the weekend and trial fit a few.

Cheers mate, that was hopeful Smile
