First impressions are that it's a nice bike and a good replacement for the 900 Diversion I traded in. The engine is very nice and pulls nicely even on hardly any revs. The low seat is comfy and should be good for extended trips.
Mirrors are truely awful and vibrate badly starting at 3000 revs.
Not sure but I sometimes feel it sort of hesitate or fluff, but maybe thats just me getting used to it. I have all the panniers too and they are pretty roomy good for touring and the quality of the bike and boxes seems to be very good.
Passenger space is good too. Very happy with my purchase so far. Just got to get the running in period over with.

Very nice! What's that white shock for under the tank at the front?? Is that some sort of BMW front suspension thing?

Nice bike Thumbs Up

yes it's the BMW front suspension. It has forks of course but the damping is done by that spring. It's supposed to make the bike stable under braking as the forks don't actually dive like a normal bike.

For a big bike it handles quite nicely

Certainly different!

I can't say it's my cup of tea but each to their own and we would be a boring bunch if we all liked the same thing.

Have BM sorted out the torque reaction on their boxer twins now? I rode one many years ago and found it quite disconcerting.

I do like BMW's quirkiness though, they always do things differently to the other manufacturers. Wierd that the bike department is like that but the car isn't Confused

Any, I waffle, enjoy your new toy!

I quite like that, that front spring sounds like a good idea too, is it noticeably different?

Me too!

Thought I never did like BMW's engine style that hangs out the side of the bike. And it's a twin...

Otherwise, looks cool! Not my sort of thing but wouldn't mind a go to see what it was like!

Have fun Thumbs Up

I do like how bmw do think about a bikes practical qualities. love my old K.

the old aircooled twins were the easiest motors to look after I have ever worked on.

Lovely bike to ride Thumbs Up If I could afford one I'd have one for sure.

Nice bike, The OH's dad has the 1150 version of that. took it out for a spin a couple of years back now, Engine was lovely, Would have been nice if it had a bigger screen. Just wish it didn't have linked brakes (Don't know if they've sorted that now ?).

The front end on those is brilliant, you brake hard and there is no dive.
If they built a light weight supermoto with that set up it would be a winning machine.

But surely you need a bit to get the weight on the front tyre to get w bigger contact patch for braking, or am I being stupid?

You get far more weight on the tyre without it being absorbed by diving.
