Yamaha Rear Sprockets to fit XT XV yfm 600 550 350 125 etc

After a search for a smaller sprocket and not finding any info here I thought i'd post the findings so maybe of some use to others.

I wanted a 40 tooth rear to replace the standard 45 tooth without much luck but found out that pattern 857 is common among various Yamaha and Vespa bikes.

The number for my sprocket was 857-45 whereas for a Yamaha XV125 Virago 97-01 it's 857-47 or JTR857-47 or similar

The only difference being the amount of teeth, hence the last 2 digits.

So, if you have a yamaha XT or any other bike and find the 1st 3 digits of pattern part number the chances are you can find an alternative quite easily
