PM me the vin I /may/ be able to help as long as the bike has not been off the road far more than a few years

In my case -my bike had not been on the road for many years and had dropped off the vin to reg database I can usually look these things up with

they sent it back to me including my £25 cheque asking me to fill in the reg number- completely ignoring the covering letter asking if they could find this out and enter it onto the form as I did not know what the reg was (same situation as yourself)

so I rang them (central office number) to find the correct procedure for finding a reg number based on the VIN and engine number and got told several different stories ...none of which were true

Best bet is to pop along to your local DVLA office with the paperwork and ask for assistance

I managed to do mine without going in in person, but there were a lot of blind alleys and hoops that I jumped through for no reason at all to get what I wanted

Theoretically it would have been resolved in 20 mins over the counter.....rather than hours of arguing with idiots and being passed to a different department of idiots

If your local office is not local - ring central office and ask very nicely if they could get them to call you...(good luck with this bit!)

Regards
Rob
