Advice, fellas? Been together nearly a year and I want to get him something nice but not too expensive as I don't want to put him in an awkward position (my money situation is a bit better than his, and my birthday is the following week Laughing ).

He is, of course, a biker, so it seems the perfect place to ask! I wondered about a trackday taster but he hasn't got leathers - might encourage him to get some between now and his birthday and go for a full trackday instead.

I know it's hard as you don't know what he's got and what he hasn't... he'd like something for the bike, or himself on the bike, but nothing really springs to mind. Otherwise he's not really into smellies, he only plays video games at mine, he's quite outdoorsy but the weather's turning rubbish, and he likes coffee. A lot. But a nice machine might be a bit much.

Hmm, didn't we have this exact question from Shereen in the not so distant past... Thinking Must do a little search to check it out... Exclamation

Yes, I was correct - it was in July. Perhaps this post will give you some ideas. https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=224894&highlight=anniversary
It's amazing what you will discover under the search button. Cool

Hmmm, £100 Armani watch is a bit beyond what I was thinking... as it happens I think he's more excited about the event than most guys seem to be, he was talking about it a few months ago even Rolling Eyes

What about a ticket to Motorcycle Live in November? I've never been, he's never been, but I bet someone here has. Worth it?

If he's a gamer you can't go wrong with getting him a few games. Perhaps BSB tickets? Chain and sprocket set? Laughing

My missus has the same sort of problem in that over the years I have aquired most of things I want so she never knows what to get me.

One of the best presents she got me was a full valet of my bike. I hate cleaning the damn thing and to have this bloke come round and 3 hours later to have a bike that looked better than the day I rode it out of the show room was brilliant.

I would have preferred a bikini clad young lady do it while I watched but that didn't happen Laughing

All I ever want for a birthday gift is to be left alone to do what the hell I want. No nagging, no can you pick your socks up off the floor. Just leave me have full control of everything. I'd have a nice 8 pack of beer, some food that I fancy, maybe watch some good rugby. Sex and a massage is always good too.

Any cool looking gadgety thing.

Motorcycle live is good, I went last year, the problem is that you/he will inevitably end up spending more money there!

First anniversary? Nothing. Unless it's a wedding anniversary.

You don't want to remind him of the fact that it's been a year since your first shag, so it's another year that he hasn't had it with anybody else, and he's sliding towards marriage and middle age.

Buy him a strip-o-gram, but make sure the stripper is a fat gay sweaty bloke. To be in view of all his mates. Then post the VT for all of us to see. Thumbs Up

Men hate anniversaries. If you really love him, you'd let it go unmentioned. If you really, really love him, you won't whine when he doesn't buy you anything, either.

Or let him go out and let him drown his sorrows Laughing Laughing

You've answered your own question.

A good solid set of leathers that look quite nice can be had for £100.

£30 more at his own expense can have them fitted like a king.

Opens up a whole world for trackdays and the like.

Done.

The best thing you can do for any bloke, regarding "anniversaries", is to giving him a lifetimes amnesty from them.
Blokes couldn't give a monkeys' about "anniversaries" and the only only reason they might turn up with a box of chocs, or some flowers, (they've just nicked from next doors garden), is to keep themselves out of the doghouse!

Don't you know anything? Wink

Boy are you high maintenance! We must have pictures to see if you have the looks to go with such maintenance.

Considering 'meals' I use this term lightly.... for many single men consist of what can be bunged in the microwave or whatever meat can be slotted between two hunks of bread........ Laughing
