At the age of 16 I was sat at home, watched TV and saw the 2nd plane crash live. I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, but I remember 10 years ago. Dear dear Smile

Bloody hell. Now I feel old. I was at Cowley Business Park, Oxford delivering some software. I worked for Enron. They still existed back then, for about another 2 months anyway.

I was working in Our price and remember one of my work colleges coming out from the stock room telling me a plane hit the twin tower. I admin I didnt even know what the twin towers was, I was about 19 and didnt think anything of it till I heard a second one had hit and thought it was weird. My ex was at home calling me telling me the world was coming to an end (dramatic type) and that I had to come home etc . When I got home and seen it on the tv it hit me most, was horrible and scary looking. Still sad to see Crying or Very sad

I was late back to work from lunch. I walked in ready to make some feeble excuse only to find everyone around a portable telly shushing me when I tried to talk.

Thank you Osama!

Ditto.

On my way home from school my mate came out of his house and told me what was going on. I got in and switched the news on.

At work. Saw it mentioned on one of our forums and put the telly on. Lots of people in our office knew lots of other people in all sorts of other companies so there were all sorts of stories going on as it unfolded, and plenty of paranoia in London.

I remember the BBC website being down to plain text.

Riding home that night watching all the planes doing massive u-turns over Shepherd's Bush, cos they weren't allowed to fly over London and presumably Heathrow were having a nightmare.

Worrying that the US were going to do something stupid and start world war 3. Neutral

I have no idea...but I do know that a couple of months later, me and my mate took advantage of the reduction in airfares and popped over to Italy for a long weekend break for something silly like £29 return. Thumbs Up

I was 22, in college, and someone told us. Wasn't much programming done that afternoon, we spent most of the time trying to get into news sites to find out what was happening, but they were all overloaded.

Does this thread make any of the BCF grown-ups feel really old?

Personally, i was at work, we dug out an old TV set and watched it all unfold.

I remember thinking at the time that it was the Chinese who were responsible, and not Al Qaeda/Zionists/Illuminati/US Govt.*

Makes me feel old, for sure. I was at work, heard the news of the first tower and went home to watch it all unfold in Technicolor on the TV. I was self-employed at the time so no biggie.

I was very concerned 'cos I was flying out to the Dominican a couple of weeks later.

I was 19 and it was the week before I was heading out to Uni, one of my mates texted me to say a plane had hit a building in New York and it was on CNBC. I thought he meant a light aircraft at first and yelled to my dad so we sat down and watched it all live. Saw the second plane hit and then both towers go down. Had goosebumps watching it all but one of those things where I couldn't believe what I was seeing and couldn't turn over.

I was 9 and had just came back from school I think, saw it on the tv as my mum was watching it, then I thought it was just a fire and went out to play on the street. As a child you never think that such an event could have such an impact on society.
