Been baffling me and a few others as to why this thing* sticks out so much.
It would seem to get in the way of the brake pads as they wear down.

Any ideas?

*thing is illustrated below

/me waits for (haha) @ GPz.

Well it won't get in the way of the pads surely? the disk is stationary and the pads will just have to be pushed further out by the pistons as they wear down. Unless i'm missing something and being stupid? Smile

Looks like the anti-chatter plate thing that stops the pads wobbling around when brakes aren't applied? Question

It could be one of the little clippy things, I might have put it back on the wrong way round.

whatever it is, mr. jamez is right.

It's the brake pad holder thats fixed to the caliper bracket Danny, I'm 100% certain on this.

The pad holder is fixed to the caliper bracket and does not move because it's fixed to the front fork. The only parts that move are the pads and the caliper and not the bracket.

If you look at it you will see that the piston will push the pad out past it as time goes on and if you didn't have it your pad would fall out.
