Looking at possibly getting one of these bikes.

Kawasaki ZX-6R (2001/Y) £1,850 11,300 miles.

I have spoken to the owner as i work with them and they are willing to come down on price.

Thats a pretty decent deal as it is?

Typical Kawasaki downpipes possibly... I even saw one of these at lunch, so bonus.
His had rust on the rear swing arm near the spindle..significant amounts of rust.

I dont know of any faults, but im sure others do Mr. Green

Main question...is it green.

not sure how you saw rust as the swingarms are alloy
the only common fault i can think of with zx6r is the gears stick and its a very simple fix that takes all of 10 mins and a can of wd40

One of those?

The rust I saw was right next the the spindle/big nut, where the adjusters are. If its there on the way home i'll take a quick snap on the phone... but im not joking the rust was... very much eating it.

I had one with about 26,000 miles on it, and it now has 54,000 miles on it and is now belonging to my dad as I bought a new Z750.

In my ownership I had no major mechanical issues, it required a new fuel pump after it was standing for 3 months while i was in afghanistan.

Remember to "burp" the oil filter when you change it, otherwise the oil light won't go out. Keep on top of the calipers as they can go spongy.

I actually quite miss riding it...
