Vehicle Check Using VIN?

Hi folks,

Been looking at a bike frame, no reg plates, not sure if it's ever been on the road. No engine in it, but I can source one if it turns out to be straight.

Now, the frame is a mid 70's (IIRC), but I'm wondering if there's a way to check the frame number to see if there is anything dodgy about the bike, and whether it's been registered previously?

HPI always used to be able to do this for you, if I recall correctly they told me the registration number that was associated with it as well but it cost quite a bit more. I'd say it's worth giving them a go, since they'll provide most of the data that you're interested in anyway.

you can ask them for free for the reg at autocheck but won't do the HPI which you can do elsewhere
