Did anybody watch the fight? Unbelievable. I think Mayweather would have won it anyway, but goddamn, what a cheap shot. Then the interview was hilarious.

It might actually be a good way to raise your stock as a fighter. Go mental for a few rounds using up all your energy then pretend to be distracted and get knocked down by a 'cheap shot' making everyone think you were better than you were

The point is you should protect yourself at all times in the ring. Ortiz looked at the ref after the first shot and still didnt do anything. Mayweather saw an opportunity and took it, serves Ortiz right for having a glass chin - so glad i didnt buy the fight!

I agree with Rezzin. I watched the KO on the news last night in work and laughed. The head butt was a dirty shot, Ortiz knew this the moment he done it as he had started apologising before the ref had separated then.

Ref called time out and he continued to say sorry. Ref then called time on again and told them to box and he still kept apologizing so Mayweather took the opportunity offered and floored him. I would have done the same.

Ortiz can think its a cheap shot all he wants but they way I would look at it is:

You headbutted me, then apologized several times. I'm not going to waste a few minutes of a round while you get your breath back and have me back in the corner beating the shit out of me. I'm going to put you down before you can do it again.

Ortiz is crap. He realies on bullying people in the ring but his mentality is very goofy. When he gets hit he really dislikes it and his game starts to fall apart.

Mayweather has cherry picked this kid. Ortiz got handed a beating to Maidana and quit. Post fight interview: "I am too young to get hit like this"

His draw to Peterson he won IMO but after 3 knock downs he gave to the guy he slowed down and starting losing every round after.

Ortiz only wins if he can make it a war, but as long as you don't hit him too much. The berto fight he did grow some balls to become champ, but berto has no movement in his legs and is there to be hit, as well as being gassed.

Ortiz is dumb, every interview he sounds dumb and fake. I Jean he said at age 9 he always wanted to beat mayweather but at that age mayweather just basically started out.

The headbutt was very bad, literally heading a football headbutt. In boxing it happens but the smart guys never do it like that. Ortiz was very dumb.


As for the cheap shot, soon as the first shot landed Ortiz should have moved. If you headbutt a man don't expect any favours. The ref Joe Scottie should retire. He retted Hatton ve Mayweather and has been in plenty of fights recently that he was too involved and wrong. He did do a hand gesture to re start but should have said box on.

As for merchant, he does ask zmayweathed hard questions, but Mayweather always acts like that anyway. Mayweather retires and has avoided Cotto and Pacquiao in my eyes. Merchant was to ask about Oacquiao for sure and that allowed Mayweathe to escape.
