My first solo helicopter flight Very Happy

Was only one circuit but the first time you fly with no one sat beside you as your safety net is quite a feeling.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. When I was 17, weeks after passing my driving test (but 23 years ago now), I did a solo circuit in a powered glider. It really got very real on final approach, when you know you have to land it!

Jealous of your helicopter experience, I've always fancied a go at that.

Probably the recent findings from an investigation into the crash that killed him and his passengers. Basically flying like a showman, no valid rating for the helicopter and quite a damning flight history.

Fair play to you. How long before your fully qualified with the full Heli license?

My grandfather, bless his soul, invented the first ejection seat for a helicopter. He only got around to testing it once and we buried him in 1245 different plots in the local cemetary.

Seeing as so many have took umbridge with this, why is he not a cunt, when he flys a coptor like a rally car for which he does not even have the full license for, and kills others as a result, including a young boy. Confused Idea Rolling Eyes

I believe there was an ejection seat system tested for helicopters when i was a lad, it sheared off the rotors afore ejecting the occupants. Tomorrows world, presented by Kieran Prendeville I believe. Looked dicey tough.

Ah, first solo. You don't really get to enjoy it, and it's over all too quickly.

You first long solo nav will be an experience to remember. 3 hours in the air will be as tiring as 24 on the road. I think I had a snooze under the pool table after mine, then woke up when the bar opened a few hours later.
