I'm in the process of getting some prices for powder coating.
I got a reasonable price from one guy, however the second guy says that he cures his powder coat in a "special" oven.

Is it possible to powder coat something without some sort of heat curing process? Confused

The way powder coating works is by melting the powder onto the surface to be coated...

So heat is required, no matter what!
Many thanks.

2 ways either parts are dipped into liquid hot powdercoat.
or stuck on with a gun and then baked in a oven.

I have had lots of bits powder coated. Its not as nice a finish as paint but its way cheaper. The company who do mine (ABC in Chertsey) says dont get petrol on it otherwise its fine to treat it like a regular painted surface. Make sure you or they mask up anything you dont want coated, Bearing surfaces or disc mounts if its wheels.
