What?
A laugh with other forum members - have a bit of fun, meet people in scary 'real life' and maybe settle some old rivalries Smile.
If you haven't done minimoto before - it's an excellent 'starter' for stuff like track days and 'big' racing; but in a lot safer environment, where you're going a lot slower and only have centimetres to fall and a smooth surface if you do crash!
Sure the same in respect to karting for car stuff. If you're particularly worried about the bikes, karting is pretty 'easy', providing you can hold your right foot forwards Smile.

Where?
Minimoto Racing is just off the M4 Junction 17. Location on google maps here.

When?
Sunday 13th November. Be there at 11:30 for a 12:00 start.

How much?
£30 for one vehicle or £50 for both.
Deposits now need to carry a gaurentee that you will pay.
As the organiser I will be expected to cough up for the total reserved places on the day.
The deposit will be £15 + paypal fees.
Just to make it clear, paying the deposit means your agree to pay the full amount; consider it a loan from, me that will be repaid on the day.
If you need to to drop out for some reason and there's someone else that can take your space, that's absolutely fine Thumbs Up, but if you can't find anyone, you WILL owe me the remainder of the money.
Deposit can be bank transfer, cash in my hand or paypal.
Please contact me with your desired payment method and I will send your details.

Whom?
Please reply if you're a maybe.
You will get added to 'definitely' when I have your deposit.

FAQ
What if I haven't done it before?
That's absolutely fine. Just take it easy to start with.
What do I need to bring?
Yourself.
If you've got a bike helmet, bring that too, to avoid the hire ones. Be aware for the minimoto you may crash, so you're more precious about your helmet than your head, either bring an old one or use one at the circuit.
For minimoto, I would also recommend a bike jacket, some sturdy trousers (jeans are fine) and some sturdy but flexible shoes/boots.
Crashing is quite likely to mark your clothing, so don't bring your brand new £200 fashion-trackies.
You need to be able to bend your ankles a fair bit, so motorbikes aren't ideal, but I generally do ok in well-worn (and thus more flexible) army boots.

Can we get food on site?
Yes, there is a cafe and snack machines. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks too.

Can I bring a camera/video camera
Yes, please do.
Helmet cameras are fine too.

How will the day be run?
For each vehicle we will have either two ten minute practice and one race, or one ten minute practice and two races (I fancy a normal race, then reverse grid race if we can Smile).
Not sure which event will be first, but we'll run one, then the other.
How long it takes will depend on numbers, but expect to be there for most of the afternoon if doing both.

I don't know anyone, are you all weirdos?
Yes, but don't worry, it's generally in a friendly manner!

Do I have to wear a silly tshirt?
It'd be nice if you wore a unique t-shirt over your jacket, ideally with something identifying your forum nickname.
It does make it all the more fun when the person who did the dodgy overtake the lap before know you've got them back, rather than just yet another black jacket!

Will you take deposit via Bank Transfer to save on Paypal fees?

Yes, would seem I will Wink.

If you send as a gift by paypal, it should also avoid fees.

Sorry m0l0t0v, far too busy, saw a couple wanting Sunday and went for it, hadn't noticed you saying you couldn't do it.

I need to call them up in a couple of days to confirm numbers.
So far, will be booking it for one person!

So, I need some deposits in.
If it's long standing members with good reputation I'll take your word that you'll cough up or find someone else that will.

If people actually aren't that interested, not too bothered from my side as I've got a hell of a lot else to sort out too Smile.

Not yet, sorry. Height shouldn't be an issue and pretty sure age won't, but will double check.

I'm definitely in for both karts and stupid, crippling ponce bikes. My cunning two stage plan this year is:

1. Wear better armour
2. Go faster

First off - I need deposits if you haven't got them to me.
Date for final numbers is this Thursday, 20th.

If you can't sort the deposit but definitely want to make it, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do Thumbs Up.

Second, so far we have a one hour slot booked. This should be JUST enough. We can also expand a little in to the group after, mixing up some sessions between theirs (as an hour would be solid riding/driving), but they've got a decent number of people booked too.

We have the option of starting at 5pm and just going on as long as we need - but I think this would make it rather late getting back for those of us with work the morning after over 200 miles away! Thoughts?

Now confirmed.

It will be one group for bikes and two for karts.

There's still a few places left until we fill up the groups - however we can't go over, so first-come-first served on those.

We'll be starting a bit earlier to spread things out. Starting with minimotos.

I'm going to come along but I can't take part. I'll just spectate. I will probably require transport from Reading as I'm currently not able to drive...

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Wasn't going to be able to. But due to a finger injury decided not to enter the comps so I'm free again!

Last few years it's always been way too cold to ride for those of us with the choice so most people go in the car. Might not be so cold this time based on recent weather, unless it suddenly freezes over. I think Bishbash has ridden there in the past, can't remember who else. If the weather is ok come the day then I may ride down too, i'm coming from Birmingham way though.
