Hi to all, I'm looking for your help.

I have a late 98 "S" plate Suzuki 600 Bandit S in Pearl Novelty Black
and I really need to seel it as I'm about to pick up my new bike in the next week or so and urgency is the name of the game so to speak. In a nutshell:

11'500 Miles (under book mileage for bikes book between 25/31K)
FSH from main dealer
MOT Dec 04
Tax June 04
"E" marked IXIL exhaust (original Suzuki pipe included in sale)
Front "extender fender"
Rear "hugger"
Front/rear brake pads changed 1'200 miles ago
New front tyre
Clean, and well looked after.
Brilliant bike for those who have just passed their test and want a bike to learn on.
You will find that lots of people recomend Bandits as it's a good all-rounder. I've had a blast on it during my ownership and I'll be sorry to see it go, but time to move onto bigger things. I can't sing the praises about the bike enough, it's been 110% reliable and very well looked after.

I'm looking for offers around £2'500 but will consider sensible offers.

I hope someone could help me move it, please drop me a line if you're interested. Laughing I've attached some pictures also. If these don't show up, here are the urls for the pictures.

you might be lucky to get that price.... i've just bought a 2000 model from a dealer for 2500.

Maybe if you wait nearer summer, but someone would be stupid to pay that, especially for a 98 model.

Good luck Shocked

I have seen a few going for £3K and not in as good nick. My local dealer just sold one around that price and it was a sorry stated 97!!!

Looks well cared for - isn;t this the one for sale on VD?

I hear what you say regarding the price (and yes, it's the one off the VD site!), but I know of bikes older than mine going for £3k plus with 3 times the mileage on and they're selling them!!!!

At the end of the day, it's only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it I know and understand that which is why I've said that I'm open to offers on it.

And yes, it has been well cared for. I don't believe in buying things like this and thrashing the backside off them. I've done a lot of rider training on this bike and it's always been the bike that most people start off on. I don't get to do this anymore otherwise I'd be selling it to new riders.

Ah, well, we'll see what happens. If I have to come down even further on price then so be it, but I'd like to think that people would do the same when selling their bikes. If you don't ask, you don't get do you?

Me again people.

Just bought a new bike which I'm picking up this weekend. Would like to therefore move the Bandit fairly sharpish please.

Open to offers.

My deal fell through with my dealer due to him not disclosing the full details of the sale (not going into it, so dont ask)....

so, would you start a bid at £2000? I dont have the cash now, but if you are having trouble selling it, and are prepared to wait.....

Just an idea, plus depends where you are.

Right chaps and chapesses,

need to shift it now. £2k will secure a deal on the bike.

(haven't forgotten about you Acidburnz as promised)

As my efforts seem to be getting me no where I'm considering taking my Bandit down to a dealer to see if they can sell it for me.

Has anyone had experience of this route (I also appreciate that I may end up with less than I'm looking for to shift it, but I can but try and name a price to get back after they have had their cut), if so, how did you get on.

2 Bike in the garage is becoming a bit of a pain I'll admit now.

Thanks for your advice.

(beginning to wonder if anyone is buying bikes this year )
(Acidburnz, the above, above bit still applies to you!)

I work in a bike shop and we sell bikes for people. We normally charge £50 per month for it to be in the showroom, and if it sells another £100 on top of that. So if your bike goes up for £3000 and sells within a month, you will recieve £2850, if you get me? If it doesn't sell it just costs you £50 per month, obviously if it hasn't sold after a couple of months you have to think to yourself is this the best route to take to sell my bike.

Thanks for that Scooby.

Could you e-mail me the details of your location, contact numbers etc please.

I may be coming to you if nothing happens over the next few weeks or so!

Hi there to all again.

As you can see, the Bandit is still sat in my garage looking for a new home.

Drop me a line if the up and coming season sees you without a bike.

Acidburnz, any news?

Just a quick point... have you advertised it elsewhere as well? If you need a quick sale, eBay it with no reserve (you can get the price pushed up a bit by people if you need), advertise on other forums (like Bandit forums, 400greybike, visordown etc) and BikeTrader to get it seen.

It's every where, believe you me, I've left no stone unturned (bar the couple you've mentioned). It's on VisorDown and many others.

Thanks for the thought though.

Sorry to hear you can't shift the bike. A friend of mine will be looking for a bike at easter time but I think thats probably too long to wait. He will be doing his test then. I will have to confirm things with him but I'll have a chat and see if he's interested. Thumbs Up Smile

Zaphodbeeble and everyone else,

thanks for your thoughts, but I'm VERY happy to report that I've managed to sell the bike to a very nice man up in Doncaster, so I'm now 100% VFR and loving it!

Thanks to all that enquired about the bike or even bothered to look at the thread.

Roll on summer!
